Strutwipe is manufactured with the same hydraulic fluid that your landing gear struts are serviced with. Even though the two type of hydraulic fluid are interchangeable, please consult your maintenance manual under ATA chapter 12 (Servicing). As a general rule, commercial and private aircraft use MIL-PRF-5605 (Royco 756). All other aircraft would use MIL-PFR-83282 (Royco 782).
What is the best size Strutwipe to use on my type of aircraft?
- The 4X4 size is perfect for small personal aircraft such as Cessna and Piper. For cleaning just the nose strut, the zip lock feature can be used for multiple uses.
- The 6X6 provides enough fluid and cleaning area for complex three landing gear aircraft all the way up to B737 and A320. As long as the struts are continually cleaned, the zip lock feature can be used for multiple cleanings of private type aircraft.
- The 9X9 (81 square inches of cleaning area) is great for the large size aircraft such as B747 and A330 or for those who would like to take advantage of using their wipes multiple time using the zip lock feature.

We attend airshows, expos, fly-ins, and FAA FAST seminars. During these events we do provide samples to FAA certificated airmen (A&P, Pilot, and aircraft owners). Samples are also provided to paid aviation forum members. We would simply go out of business if we just handed out samples to everyone. Thank you for your understanding. If you would like to purchase just one to try out, please check out Aircraft Spruce which carries Strutwipe.

Red rental rags are loaded with contaminates! Sealants, metal shavings, fuel, and Skydrol just to name a few. Fuel and Sykdrol degrade the wiper and o-ring seal in your strut causing landing gear failures.
